There are how many McDonalds fast food restaurants in Hawaii and they serve what???!!
The Hawaii state boasts McDonalds eateries on all of the main islands of Oahu, the Big Island, Maui and Kauai. There are currently 83 McDonalds restaurants gracing the Hawaiian islands.
What makes McDonalds in Hawaii unique from the rest of the McDonalds in the world is their additional fast food items that target local tastes. Food such as portuguese sausage, eggs and rice for breakfast, haupia (coconut pudding) turnovers for dessert, and fruit punch as a soft drink selection. You can also snack on a hot cup of noodles in broth called saimin, an island favorite.
What local food item would you like to see at McDonalds?

I hate McDonalds also, but I wanted to give my readers a sense of how entrenched Hawaii is in all things corporate America.

My blog readers are always amused to see what local dish we get next! I mean, they never see the Taro Pie in Ohio! :)

Yup, and now I am seeing tv commercials for Burger King advertising their new spam and eggs or spam croissant breakfast!
