Hawaien Lei... Sounds great thing...Do u thing they can be produced outside hawai also? like in sydney? Can I ask my Florist in sydney if he can provide me this service?

HawaiiVacationGifts

Aloha Lawrence,
Yes, leis can be made anywhere! Your florist could probably provide this service, or you could buy any fresh small flowers or buds, such as rose buds, and string them up yourself. Just use a needle and long thread and string up the blossoms one after the other. Usually it is best to start at the bottom center of the flower, and poke through the middle of the flower. Please let me know if you do this and how it turned out.

May Day was always one of my favorite little holidays. I remember going out in the garden and picking my mother flowers and putting them in a basket to hang on her door when she got up when I was little. I hope I didn't wreck her flower garden by doing it, LOL!

I like the idea of leis on May Day. I should get one if possible and bring it to my mother-in-law in the nursing home. She loves Hawaii and perhaps it would make her remember her visits there.

Nia

Hi Lawrence,
Just like the previous post noted, yes leis can be produced everywhere (of course you have to know how :) ). But get creative! Try different flowers.

HawaiiVacationGifts

Mauigirl, hope you were able to get a lei for May Day.

Nia,
Good advice about getting creative and trying different flowers. Mahalo for visiting our blog and leaving a comment.
