Make this super easy papaya sorbet dessert for a cool and delicious treat. If you have papayas that are a little over ripe or bruised, this is the perfect papaya dessert recipe to whip up.
First, cut open a papaya (allow 1/2 to one whole papaya per person) and scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Save the papaya seeds to make a delectable Hawaiian papaya seed dressing or meat tenderizer. Next, spoon out the papaya fruit and put the fruit pieces in a plastic bag or container and place in the freezer.
After the papaya fruit is frozen, place it in a food processor and puree with a little bit of water till the texture is smooth. I don't add any sugar, but you can add sugar to taste and puree again. Serve immediately or store in the freezer in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.
Please remember that we can have fresh Hawaiian papayas shipped to the mainland directly to your doorstep year round.
