That is so awesome! It's not often that someone gets to sit in their yard and see a display like that.


Wish I'd seen it! I think here the eclipse was at 3 a.m. and I just didn't have the energy to get myself up to look at it!


Sheila, it was the most memorable and beautiful event in the sky I have ever seen. Better than a solar eclipse during the day where you cannot look directly at the sun without harming your eyes. With the moon's lunar eclipse, you can safely gaze at it intently all you want!

The total eclipse was at approximately 11:53 p.m. and by 3:22 a.m. the moon had returned to its full brightness and it was all over. So Mauigirl, sorry your time zone didn't suit you for this eclipse. Make sure you are in Maui in December 2010 for the next one!
